BIOGRAPHY
Since childhood Gary Hodges love of nature and wildlife has led him to apply this
interest and knowledge to his pencil drawings. He won the Society of Wild life Artists
/ Worldwide Fund for Nature Fine Art award in both 1989 and 1990. In 1991 he was

His concern
for conservation and environmental issues is reflected by the number of organisations
who have used his work to raise funds. Such organisations include the Environmental
Investigation agency, Greenpeace UK, Zoo check, Robin es Bois, World Wild Fund for
Nature and The Born Free Foundation. Many of his drawings have been auctioned to
raise money for environmental groups. Among these were shows at the Medici Gallery
and the Mall Galleries in London, a one man show in Paris for the French environmental
organisation Robin des Bois and the Living Earth Rainforest Art Exhibition at the
Natural History Museum. He has work in the collection of the prestigious Nature in
Art Museum, Gloucestershire and has been on "Artist in Residence" there three times.
In 1990 Gary was commissioned by Virginia McKenna to produce a commemorative drawing
of the late George Adams which has subsequently been made into a limited edition
print.
1995 saw Gary Hodges as a finalist for the Artist of the Year award with the
Fine Art Trade Guild and in 1996 he was the winner of the John Solomon Trophy. This
award is decided from the results of the survey of the retailers questioned by Art
Business Today to find the best selling living artist
