Born in Waterford in Ireland in 1955, Peter Curling was brought up in County
Claire and in England, where he went to school. His early work was influenced by the eminent tutor Signorini Nera
Simi, with whom he studied in Florence and by the great equestrian artis John Skeaping, with whom he worked in
Spain.
Peter Curling lived for a time in Newmarket, riding out with the trainer Michael
Stoute, before he returned permanently to Ireland in 1975, whre he now devotes equal attention to his art and to
his horses.
