Andrea Bates (nee Bartok) was born in Budapest, Hungary in 1943,
educated in Paris and Montreal, studied are at the Axademy of Fine Arts in Vienna and now lives in north Oxfordshire.
Member of the Oxford Art Society, Fossway Artists and several other groups, she has had 18 one-woman shows to date,
and has had work exhibited by the Royal Institute of Oil Painters and the Pastel Society, in the Mall Galleries
in London. Her work can be found in private collections in this county North America, Switzerland, France and Germany.
Preferred media are pastels and oils, with subjects including landscapes, seascapes, portraits, flowers, gardens,
and still life. Since 1994 she has brought out a range of limited edition prints depicting gardens, flowers and
landscapes.
