Born 1943 in Barnt Green a small village on the outskirts of Birmingham,
Paul was his father's shadow while he worked forging metal and fashioning leather goods.
At the age of 23 he moved with his parents to the Lake District
where he married and lived for seven years. During this time he spent a lot of time photographing the surroundings
and began to paint some of his favourite beauty spots in oils.
In 1981 he contracted a virus which damaged his heart and during
a two year period of convalescence he sought art tuition and began painting landscapes capturing every crag of
the mountains and mood of the lakes.
For a short time he went back to the building industry. but his
yearn to paint eventually encouraged him to turn professional and he now paints from his home studio in Blackpool.
Only a short distance from the lake district, Paul can often be found walking the fells searching out new material
for another painting to put on canvas.
His paintings form part of collections throughout Europe and the
Americas.
